From care institution to matching platform: the digital transformation of Standby Zorg

The healthcare sector is changing rapidly, and with those changes come new challenges. Standby Zorg, an organization with 25 years of experience in home care, has made a big step together with Freshheads: the launch of a platform that directly connects caregivers and care organizations. How was this platform created, and what makes it so special? Read on and discover how a care institution transformed into an online matching platform.
About the platform
The new Standby Zorg platform is designed to efficiently bring together care providers and care organizations. Care organizations can independently publish services, to which care providers can respond directly. From planning and approving hours to complete invoicing: everything goes through one user-friendly system. In this way, Standby Zorg is not just a healthcare institution; it has also become an online matching platform.
The platform gives healthcare institutions complete control over the process, allowing them to switch more quickly without the intervention of an intermediary. Care organizations can publish services, while care providers can respond independently with their own profile and rate. This ensures flexible and transparent collaboration. Standby Zorg guarantees quality by validating care providers during onboarding based on business data. For this, they must upload documents that are checked by Standby Zorg. Only after approval can they respond to services. Additionally, the platform offers functionalities such as automated invoicing and time registration, which reduce time-consuming administrative work. The platform is a response to the growing need for flexibility and self-reliance within healthcare.
Our approach
The path to the current platform began with an earlier project in which Standby Zorg and Freshheads worked on digitizing and improving internal work processes. This foundation formed a solid starting point for building the new platform. You can read more about this project in our previous blog posts.
In the development of the platform itself, two multidisciplinary teams, Rocket and Hubble, were closely involved. This intensive process resulted in a first version that went live in early November. What made this collaboration special was the strong interaction between Freshheads and Standby Zorg. Together, we ensured that both technical and organizational challenges were addressed, resulting in a platform that is not only technically robust but also fully meets the needs of care providers and organizations.

Future
Although the foundation is set, Standby Zorg and Freshheads are far from finished. An ambitious roadmap is ready to further improve and expand the platform. Think of new functionalities and even more integrations with tools that support the healthcare sector. Additionally, the first user experiences are being gathered to implement improvements.
The vision is ambitious: a fully integrated platform that structurally relieves and improves the healthcare sector. By innovating step by step, Standby Zorg continues to adapt to the changing needs of care organizations and care providers.
