KlusCV: een grote stap voor de markt-mensheid!

Well, this is something that really excites us at Freshheads: KlusCV. We're somewhat biased, because we have a love for online marketplaces and we developed the technical standard behind KlusCV. Anyway, today KlusCV has gone live, a tool impacting over 50,000 platform workers. And we are extremely proud!

What's so special about KlusCV?

Workers look for jobs, clients look for people to perform a job, and through digital flex platforms, both parties find each other. The choice for a platform worker is usually based on ratings and reviews. Until recently, those ratings and reviews were reserved for the digital platform where workers completed their jobs; they couldn't take this data with them to another platform. KlusCV changes that; all participating platforms now also make the data available to the platform workers, allowing them to download and carry their accumulated work experience to other platforms or organizations. This makes it easier for workers to start elsewhere. KlusCV is an initiative by platform expert Martijn Arets.

How does KlusCV work?

KlusCV is a standard. This means that all participating platforms unlock their data in the same way. It's quite a task to make this happen, as each platform has its own unique way of collecting ratings: one platform uses stars, another adds written reviews, and yet another also mentions the number of jobs someone has completed. With all these different methods, we looked for one template where everything fits, so a uniform 'kluscv' emerges that is as valuable as possible for platform workers. From today (January 18, 2022), this KlusCV can be downloaded as a PDF that platform workers can, for example, place on their LinkedIn or present to other employers. Although this is already a significant improvement, it is 'only' a first step; the ambition is to eventually make KlusCV uploadable on other platforms, so platform workers can upload their reviews at, for example, YoungOnes into their profile at Roamler.

Why does Freshheads find it important to participate?

We don't just want to launch digital services haphazardly. “We always feel a broader responsibility, and we want to add something for people, business, and society,” said Wout Withagen, director of Freshheads. “With KlusCV, we connect digital job platforms with each other. This opened up an interesting conversation among platform owners about how they can make their data as valuable as possible for platform workers. Moreover, digital job platforms are inclusive intermediaries; because they don't have recruiter bias, they offer opportunities to people who find it harder to get a job elsewhere. Thanks to KlusCV, access to other platforms and the labor market is now even more accessible. I think this is a fantastic step in the platform world and I'm happy to be a part of it.”

Freshheads has a lot of knowledge about marketplaces. What I like about the collaboration is that Freshheads acts quickly, proactively thinks about possibilities and impossibilities, and delivers things I can blindly trust to be good. And especially around data sharing, that is a very important requirement.
